Ok this is why we live here... sitting out on the terrace, David playing in the paddle pool... doesn't get any better than this :)

Sick and tired of always feeling sick and tired.
Well the transition into parenting is no easy one and neither is being pregnant for the 2nd time... feeling bloody awful and trying to be a good parent.
After a good cry about how I've lost touch / feel distant with some of my pre-children friends (a good friend pointed out that maybe they weren't 'real' friends... ok, she's smart) and having cut out sugar from my diet I feel better.... for now.
Luckily David is a forgiving soul and has been excited that I can play with him again the last couple of days. He's a smart one he is and full of humour. We have a good old play in his bedroom and new words are flying out left right and centre.
His recent habit of running away from me in public is an interesting one. We leave daycare and OFF he goes, me gasping for breath behind him trying to make sure he doesn't fly down some stairs or, worse, into the car park. All the other mothers' kids walk nicely alongside them - like David used to - and now they just watch our curious little sprinting game with interest.
He's a great actor too, we now take turns pretending to be asleep - David closes his eyes and snores and everything, it's the cutest thing I have EVER seen. Must record a video and post soon. He also does a good fake "angry", "sad" and "surprised".
Now I just need to learn to ignore the two most common things people are saying to me:
1. Careful you don't get too fat (whilst I am putting something in my mouth).
2. Oooooooh, David's not going to take too kindly to the newborn.
Ha ha ha, it's really quite absurd really when you write it down. I'm going to start say #1 to non pregnant people and see what happens... just for fun you know. It's only fair.

May 2011 - First Kids Bday Party

David's attends his first proper bday party!
I love the fact that all the other kids are involved with the clown and David is only involved with the food.
The "sword" balloons sent him over the edge and he fell asleep in the car on the way home completely blowing our routine.
David's dinner today: 2 large pieces of cake, 5 large handfulls of crisps, 1/2 strawberry, one bite of cheese, one bite of tortilla, one bite of a brownie, a sip of bubbly (the stuff you use to blow bubbles with) and water. Now that's good parenting. Oh yeah, he had cake at daycare too because it was someone's birthday.

It ain't easy feeling queasy.
So, David will be getting a little bro or sis beginning of Decemeber!! Such great news, I took great delight in tricking Mike about the news, I handed him a positive pregnancy test asked him to translate the result. I guess "3 weeks +" wasn't too hard to translate into english but he studied it for a while in shock... funny. I have a sick sense of humour.
Feeling queasy of course, thankfully not as bad as last time but enough to spend certain days asleep more than awake as it's the only time I don't feel bad. I read a list of 10 things that made you more prone to feeling morning sickness... I ticked 9 boxes.
Another difference is the amount of food I am consuming, last time I lost 5 kilos in the first 4 months, this time round I am eating like a baby dinosaur - carbs carbs carbs. I am going to be a fat preggo this time.
We're going to find out the sex this time so we can get David used to the idea, I didn't want to have to refer to his "brother or sister" the whole time. It's so funny that to find out or not find out the sex raises so many opinions from others, it's up there with breast feeding.
I resigned from work today as it wasn't for me, which will leave more time to concentrate on make-up. It feels a bit scary but looking forward to the challenge!
Now I am going to dress up all pretty and professional and drive around selling/pitching my services to wedding venues and beauty parlors - anyone who will listen. Challenging for me but "screw it just do it" as Richard Branson said. I'm thinking I managed to sell Financial Data for goodness sake, so this has to work. I still have no clue how currencies work. e.g. The other day Mike said the SEK "is now at 12" with a look of horror or excitement (I couldn't be sure which one) and still have no idea what this implies. I try, I really do, I ask questions and everything but am none the wiser.
Over and out for now.

Hard at Work at Daycare

(Click on above for more photos!)
Well, it's a tough job but someone has to do it, and today it was overlooking his staff while they handpainted. It looked like they also had a smile lesson, it must be the first one as no one seemed to get it.
Apparently today's tom-foolery was that he kept taking off his glasses and at snacktime he mashed the cookies into the frames. I have seen him try to bite and break the glasses so this is no major surprise.
David has been a right party animal this weekend, he was up from 2-7am saturday night and got up at 4.30am on sunday. So life isn't too different from my 20s if you really think about it.
Peace out.
